Where applicable, NACRES projects and programmes promote sustainable tourism—especially community-oriented nature-based tourism—while opposing mass and corporate tourism in nature conservation areas.

Often in cooperation with tourism organisations/companies, our efforts include:

• Developing local ecotourism plans for various agencies
• Promoting bird and wildlife watching and education
• Increasing the ability of local individuals/small businesses to be involved in nature-based tourism
