In November 2009 Tbilisi will be hosting the 19th International Conference on Bear Research and Management.

TBILISI, the capital of Georgia, an important historical and cultural centre, a wonderful place at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, an inspiration of many writers, artists or just wanderers seeking for a romantic harbour is located in Eastern part of Georgia. The elevation of the city ranges from 380-600 meters (1246-1968 feet) above sea level. The city covers an area of 372km2 (144 square miles), has 1,093,000 inhabitants and is famous with its multicultural spirit, incredible hospitality and friendliness and extraordinary natural beauty.

The setting of the city is very attractive. The relief is quite complex. It is situated on both banks of the River Mtkvari bound by mountains on three sides. You can climb up the hills towards old fortresses and have a breathtaking view of the city whose recorded history spans more than fifteen hundred years.

Welcome!
